The guy didn't hang up for me. He insisted we really did have a credit card, and that my husband had taken out a 10k limit so he could buy a jetski to have delivered to some womans house.
Prerecorded message at first, and as many have said, they were trying to sell me a credit card loan reduction in order to steal info. When I informed him I didn't have a card he accused my husband of infidelity, and of taking out the card in my name to buy another woman a jet ski.
Caller ID log shows Cell Phone KS - 316-300-0000"This is your 2nd and final ... lower your credit card interest ... "This is 'bovine excrement'. I am certain of this because I do not have ANY credit cards. I really wish someone could stop these creeps.
It's the drug-addicted "card services" scammers at it again, trying to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers by pretending to be associated with our credit card companies. Those that have been fooled into revealing their card number to these lowlife have noticed hundreds, if not thousands of dollars of unauthorized charges to it on their next statement. Beware of these scummy creatures who support their addictions by cheating others, and warn others before they are cheated!
Picked up the phone and a recording began about how this was my second and final notice about loweing my intrest rates on my credit card and told me to press "1". To play along (I had no intention of actually using them to lower anything), I pressed "1". A man with an Indian accent picked up and as soon as I told him I didn't have a credit card he hung up.CID: Cell Phone KS
Same scam. Lower you interest rate..blah blah blah. Hit 1. Lady answered. I blew my police issued whistle in her ear. She called me a [***] and hung up on me. Oh well.
My 72 year old mother got a call from this number. I told her not to answer it, thanks to all of u guys. And, I want to know what happened to the "NO CALL LIST" too!! Damn sure doesn't work!!!
The Do Not Call list never did work against scammers, especially those calling from outside the US. However, it does work to keep all the local businesses where you live plus reputable national companies from calling you. When was the last time you received a call from a reputable local or national company that you do not already do business with? That pretty much tells you about the ethics of those who do call to try to sell you something.
I just had a call from 316-300-0000 and when I pressed 1, I had a person answer with an accent and I asked to have me removed off the list and they started cussing at me, and using extreme profanity with me and was very aggressive with the words they used. I wish I could figure out who this is. He asked if I was recording the call and I said yes and then he hung up. They hide behind the number. I am glad one of my kids did not answer the phone.
