Cancel your landline service. Use a smartphone instead. Use an online fax service if you need it. Always add all incoming and outgoing numbers to your phone contacts along with a person's name or a company name. When you get a call from a number that's not already in your contacts, don't answer it. If they leave a message, play it back and take it from there. If they don't leave an intelligible message, look the number up online. If it's a known spammer or you cannot otherwise identify it, block the number and add it to a contact named SPAM01. When SPAM02 has accumulated enough numbers, start SPAM02. Continue ad infinitum and never be bothered twice by the same unknown caller. If they expected a callback then they should have left a message. The age of the landline has come and gone. Enjoy the extra free time.
You can't just sign up for the "No Call" list and expect no one to call you except those you wish. There are many fundraising organizations who make calls this time of year as well as during election cycles. You can either block them and/or answer your phone and request to be added to their DNC list.
They didn't bother to leave a message, which to me says they knew they had no reason to call me that I would be pleased about. If someone thinks you want to hear what they have to say, I'd think they'd say it to your voicemail...
This just gets tiresome. And the worst part is, there's not a thing I can do about it. Yes, I received a call from 320-300-4921. I did not recognize the number, the caller ID read "UNAVAILABLE," so, I hit the BLOCK button on my call blocker and now it's blocked. In fact, I just programmed by call blocker to block all numbers from 320 area code. I get half-a dozen of these calls a day . . . IRS scam; you have won a free trip to the Bahamas; political fund-raising; you have won a free knee brace. Do Not Call List is useless. I purchased two call blockers . . . have both of them installed on my phone line. I just hit the BLOCK button and it's blocked forever, still, I wish it would just stop.
Consumer Reports is a leading an effort to require telephone companies to include call blocking in their packages. This seems to be affordable compared with the cost of apprehending these guys.
Call, no msg. Blocked area code. One of 13 spam/no msg calls TODAY, all now blocked from various area codes/#'s. Can't believe 13 in one day! Must be a new set of spammers, or new set of numbers to call. We don't answer if we don't know who's calling. So tired of having to constantly block #'s, but we will keep blocking area codes & numbers.
numerous calls last two days....no messages or voicemail......kind of tiring they keep on
