Caller said he was from the US Treasury. He said he was calling about back taxes from a certain year. He had a foreign accent. He gave a bage #. He said I owed $6000.00. He said when call was disconnected. Law enforcement would be at my house in 45 minutes. I told him I knew this was a scam. I am not a tax evader. I said if this was about taxes , the IRS would contact me. He said I did not respond to corrospondence from them and gave some kind of code number. I said I had received no mail of that kind. And no law enforcement would be at my home and hung up. The number he called from was this one which on my caller ID is Starnet, Inc. Orlando.

Said as soon as I hung up I be arrested and there would be no one who could help me! If I would not work with them on past taxes!

Yea I got this call too. Since I don't know anybody in Florida, I thought "Scam" and didn't answer. Now I know, I was right!Thanks posters!

I got the same message as all of the above. I never called the number back as I was sure it was a scam. Is there anyway to stop this?

I received a similar call from this number a "Gary Williams" from the Department of Treasury. The call was poor quality, like the caller had bad service, and the caller threatened that we would be arrested today for tax evasion in 2010. We have received no letters from the IRS to indicate such an issue (and the FTC released a statement that the IRS sends letters and does not make calls). After research, I believe it was an attempted scam.

Caller ID: STARNET INC ORL Machine picked up and "Dennis Gray" advised me via a recording that repeated 3 times, of a possible criminal offense with the US Treasury. Can't believe people fall for this scam these days.

Same threatening call with very bad echo. Calling about some enforcement action and that I should not ignore this or I would be taken before a magistrate. SCAM all the way!

I just got the same call this morning. Same threatening message stating I had to appear in court due to backtaxes. I needed to call this Gary person as soon as possible to start legal action and if I didn't I would haveto go to jail. What a Joke!!!
