A man called saying that he was with Merchant Solutions. Or Merchant Services, I can't be sure which one it was, as it happened so fast. But it seemed like he was phishing for a comment that was in the affirmative. I believe that they are recording people who say "yes" to whatever question they ask. My best guess is that they are going to use the recorded affirmation to gain access to personal information using your voice. The best thing to do is not to say yes. Maybe just hang up.

Bank verifying purchases

Received a female computerized voicemail message from Scott about verifying my "recent bank transactions of every department" and to call 1-800-622-1361 which is NOT my bank. This is a phishing SCAM. They have other Omaha, NE numbers too. BEWARE!!!

4 calls same day. Call back number is 1800-622-1361. Over limit Visa debit card. Funny, I don't have one of those ! Scammer

This is a legitimate number, a third-party verification service contracted by banks, to verify purchases on bank debit cards. They don't ask for any identification other than the phone number where they left the message and your name. They read a list of about 5 prior transactions on the debit card for you to verify and then they say goodbye and hang up.

You gave them exactly what they wanted. It is a phishing attempt where all they want from you is for you to give an affirmative response. "Yes" or similar. Which will be recorded. Watch out for future unauthorized transactions and do call your bank to make them aware. Your bank knows your contact information and will not have someone call your number and then confirm the number they just used. Especially without any further explanation.I got a call from the same number, asked my bank about it and they did assure me that they did not authorize a third party to call on their behalf. If your bank finds questionable charges they will address the exact charge in question.

He sounded like he was Arabic or something, and he asked if this number (then he said our business number) and I said yes and then he said thank you and hung up.
