I got al call from this #, I have a claim, but don't know to trust it, I am reading all of the comments , so I think the people saying this number is ok, they are the scam, I am a retired police officer with 15 years, this does not pass the smell test, if it is the ssa, they will leave a message, and I just called the regional local office, and no notes was in the system that anybody was trying to contact me. so just call youre local office if you have any questions, also when a rep will speak to you, they will ask more than the first digits of youre ssn, they will ask and verify youre d-o-b, your full address, youre mother maiden name, so ask the scammer or whoever on the phone you tell me some information about me if you are legite, they will know everything, when you filled for social security.when you sign up for social security they ask for everything up front, there is no reason for asking anything. and the processing center for the check is at Baltimore m.d. these scammers are smart , this is there living and to make money rather than work at a real career or job, so they are going to pull every trick in the book to fool you.so you scammers writing on this site to fool people , you game is up, if you don't want a pissed off cop, on youre [***], you better pack it up,
I agree, this is a valid number for the SSN. I am working with a individual there to get an issue resolved and this is the number he called me from.
You are WRONG Geo. It is a phone number from the HQ in Falls Church, VA. This is not a scam. As to why they called on a Sunday, I'm not sure. Perhaps they have a workload that they were given OT to work on a Sunday. YES, the first 5 digits does help locate the correct unit to whom the call should go to. I've worked for SSA for 18 years, and have seen that number numerous times in my line of work. We generally receive those calls from the payment center for disability insurance.
They want to bill you hundreds of dollars for months in advance for medicare Part B. The caller pressures seniors to opt for part B when they only want part A which is free. Then you get a bill right away for the previous month and the next two in advance. They claim that it is billed quarterly. You get lots of threatening letters demanding payment of hundreds of dollars. I was dumbfounded when I got the bill and went to the local SSA office and cancelled right away. They said I still had to pay for the previous month and the next two anyway. It is a scam.
This IS the SSA. They called last week and I missed the call, and they did not leave a message. I jumped through hoops trying to figure out why they called because I have been waiting months to start receiving my benefits. I called my local office and they confirmed the number as one of the outbound numbers for the payment process center in Maryland. They called back today to verify my information to send my payment.
D Moore, you are correct, 410-965-1234 are phone calls that origniate at SSA HQ in Woodlawn Maryland. The calls go through an automated switch board and only provides that number to the recipient. And we do have people working weekends to clear up back logs
THE NUMBER BELONGS TO FEDERAL CREDIT UNION IN WOODLAWN. THEY CALL TO VERIFY NEW ACCOUNTS APPLICATION OR SUSPICIOUS THINGS ONLINE (THEIR WEBSITE). THE LADY DID NOT ASK ME FOR SS# AT ALL. THEY ARE LEGIT.
SHE DIDNT ASK ME FOR ANY PERSONAL OR ACCOUNT INFO. I HAD SUBMITTED ONLINE FORMS FOR NEW ACCOUNT(ERROR) AND SHE CALLED TO VERIFY, IT LOOKED SUSPICIOUS, SO BEFORE THEY JUST SUBMIT IT, THEY WILL CONFIRM THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT. GLAD SHE DID
