It's just the Gallup service. Any company that you give your phone number to, say a bank or a political organization, may use Gallup to help run surveys. They can call you regardless of your number being unlisted or on the DO NOT CALL list because you already gave your number to the company that is using the Gallup service. The easiest way to deal with the call is to simply answer the phone and state that you don't want to answer the survey. If you have the 3 minutes free though you might as well just answer the questions. Not answering is the worse thing to do though since they'll continually call you until you answer.

For the past 2 night have received 2 calls a night. I answered one of them and they said it was a Gallup poll. They wanted me to answer some questions, told no and don't call again. They have been calling on cell phone and I too am on no call list

They have called me 4 days in a row on the cell phone and I will not answer. Most likely a survey call regarding something that was recently purchased by me. They do not leave a message either and I don not have an opinion. They know where to find me if it is of any importance. Save the phone number, give it out as yours, and they can call it. OOOXXOOO

You do not have to answer and tell them you are registered on the DNC! When I was active in real estate, before making a cold call we had to enter nthe numbers on a database to check if it was listed on the DNC. If the number was we did not call.

I find it hilarious that apparently no one reads the comments BEFORE posting one. And I find it appalling how immature some of these "adults" are. Blowing a whistle into your phone? simply ignoring the calls? Yelling at the pollsters? These things are what children do.

Received call from 402-952-4444 @ 10:21 AM on a Saturday, Caller ID displayed GALLUP ORGANIZA but I doubt it was really from them because phone only rang twice and they hung up when I answered. Besides it was on a weekend and I doubt they work weekends. I believe it is a spoofed number as the number really is the Gallup Polling Organization, however why would they hang up if they were polling you? Just to find out how many rings before you answer the phone poll??? I blocked the number just in case, as I don't want to answer polls either.

These people have been calling for the past few days. They let the phone ring for ten or more rings. Finally last night at 9:10 pm I grabbed it in sheer anger. Was told they are the Gallup Poll and take surveys so are exempt from the DNC registry. I told her to stop bugging me and she threw the "F" word at me and hung up. I then called the local Sheriff, played the Deputy the recorded call and filed an official complaint. I will pursue the complaint. Nobody has the right to invade my private time and even worse, nobody ever gets away with using the "F" word to me. Stay tuned. More to come.

The Call Screener automatically answers a ringing phone and plays the following message:"This number does not accept solicitation or survey calls of any kind. Place this number on your "Do Not Call" list and hang up. All others press "1" to ring through." ANY telemarketer that ignores this message is willfully violating federal law and liable for damages up to $ 1,500 dollars. In other words, if you have a Call Screener and a telemarketer calls, that party will either hang up or be positively identified as acting illegally and liable for damages. Everybody should have one. Just Google "Call screener"
