Their pitch is that "you know the timeshare isn't worth anything...". So if it's not worth anything how do they intend to get rid of it? Answer - they'll put it on e-bay for $1 - somebody will buy it, pay transfer fees and escrow fees (to one of Regency's companies undoubtedly) and Regency already has your $5000!DUH - let's see if your annual assessment is around $800 (this is sort of the average), then the $5000 that you gave Regency would have paid your assessment for 6 more years or you could have listed it on e-bay yourself and saved the $5000!
I'm 22 years old. I don't own a time share not have I ever. What do I do? Why are they calling?
I honestly don't understand why timeshare scammers keep calling me. I have never owned a timeshare, and don't think I ever will. My father owned one, but the contract on it expired in 1999. For the past one or two years, whenever I have gotten one of these calls, I have told them as much, yet they won't take me off their call lists.
My latest trick is to answer a call by saying with my best DJ voice, "Hello, you're on the air!" At least 50% of the time, they hang up without a word; they probably think they called a radio station or talk show.
Caller ID /s/ Regency Comm. Your entries indicate it's a time share relief operation. Did not answer.
They have called my BUSINESS phone repeatedly even though I have told them this is a business and I DON'T have a time share!
