I had that, they even said I'd be put in prison, called my local RCMP, they did checks with there computers and said they would look after it, haven't heard a word from that number again...

It's the political season, so answering this kind of crap call is more important, since they will just full your Caller ID with their calls, for the next two months. That's why I picked this up. Lady mumbled about wanting to do a survey and something about age and birthday. She had a pretty heavy accent, consistent with other comments here that the calls are from Chattanooga, TN. I asked her to repeat. She claimed she could not hear ME! I spoke up, much louder, and repeated that I couldn't understand her. Instead of going through her spiel again, she said she would call back -- I told her not to -- she hung up.So, sometimes, even when you do what *should* put a stop to them, the calls continue.

call from ??? research center ... had them hold the line until I got my referee whistle... how's yer ears?...these type of calls are just bandits and thieves.. treat them accordingly

We've received three calls from this number. First call, I answered and was asked if I would participate in a survey from a state university and the Department of Labor, and I said yes. I was then told the person who does the survey needs to be the person in the home with the next birthday. We ended the call. This was very suspicious to me. I called the number back and got a recording stating the call was a telemarketer but was not trying to sell anything.

I received a call from this number but I picked up at the same time as my answering machine so they hung up. I googled the number and got this site with an 888 number, which I called and got Wilkens Research. The woman I spoke with said she knew her department was trying to find people to do a legal research case in Bucks County, PA. I told her I live in Allegheny County and she was puzzled why I would be called. When I told her that the number on my caller ID was actually a 423 area code she said she was in the 423 area code. When I asked why the caller did not leave a message, she said that due to the nature of the call they could not leave information on the answering machine.

Supposedly a research from the University of Alabama and asked if I would be willing to answer a few job-related questions.Had I said "yes" or agreed , my voice would have been probably recorded so that they could use my phone information with my "Yes" to charge so high priced items that I would have never received.

My house doesn't answer numbers that it doesn't recognize and they didn't leave a message so figured it was another scam trying to make money off of a Veteran's limited income. I keep getting calls of this nature and if the people were serious about helping the family they would leave a message -
