Called at 6:30 pm (dinner hour). Caller ID shows UNKNOWN NAME. Caller is Wilkins Research wanting to do a survey on radio stations. I said it would cost them $25 for me to answer. She hung up.

I got a call from this number today and it was a woman making a survey offer, not a telephone survey but a two day survey that they would pay me $350 - $450 dollars for taking. She said I would need to travel to Memphis TN to the Cook Convention Center and the survey would span Friday and Saturday. That is a horse of a different color, when I said I would not be available for that she wanted to know if there is anyone else at this address who would be available on those two days and of course I said no. In this day and age I would never let a stranger on the telephone talk me into leaving my home for any such offer, just because she was interested in my address and making sure if I wasn't going to be here would anybody that would be here like to leave on those two days then I feel there is sufficient cause to suspect there is a burglary plan brewing and I can't stands for that ! Some offers are not worth the risk they represent, not worth the worry that would ensue and surely not worth the possibility of being led somewhere you do not want to be so someone can take advantage of you or rob you into the poorhouse. It's simply not prudent to take such a chance.

My favorite thing to do is answer the phone and say "Your caller 103 and YOU just won 103 dollars! :) Sometimes they'll respond and other times it's a robocall. If you get a live human, tell them to delete you from their phone list or your going to report them to the Federal Trade Commission" I like the phone blocker idea the best.

1- block their number 2- file a complaint to Do not call.gov 3- tell them not to call anymore

caller did not leave message on answeringmachine they are scammers I never pick up

Caution, 423-777-5497 is a "spoofed" number, which means that whoever called you "tricked" your caller ID to display an incorrect phone number. Invest in a phone with call blocking...worth every penny

Despite previous report saying this was a spoofed number and being a scammer, I think this was a legitimate research call on local hospitals. Nothing personal or probing.Still a nuisance, but harmless.
