My phone beeped -- it did not ring and a recorded voice came on and said, "number verified." When I got to the phone I called the 444-444-4444 on the phone screen and again a male voice said, "number verified."Who/what is this? And what an intrusion. If this is a third-party telemarketing scheme . . .I'm on the Do Not Call registry. I've called them and filed a complaint. If you'd like to do the same the phone number is (888) 382-1222. It's automated.
I just received a call from this phone number... retarded... I never answered the phone... I don't trust phone number like that!
I got a call from this number and they also left a message. The message was from a representative at Guthy-Renker wanting to know how I liked the products I recently purchased. I did recently make a purchase from one of those infomercials, so I assume this is legitimate. I made the purchase on-line and I cannot recall wether I gave them my cell phone number or not, but I most likely did when making payment. I think Guthy-Renker does ALL those infomercials and "as-seen on tv" sites, so this seemed legitimate to me. I think they were probably more interested in selling me stuff than actually caring how I liked my purchase, so I did not return the call.
You can simiply contact your MP/MPP for assistance. They can verify who live in your houshold and who's not. How ? some of you might ask. Something call voter lists. Almost every Canadian citizen over the age of 18 are on that list. They even got the date of birth of each individual. Unless the collection agency is looking for a person who is under 18 of ago, then you are out of luck.Ask the name of the agency, name of the person who handle the case & the case number. Call you MP/MPP, ask him/her to contact the agency on your behalf. Trust me, most MP/MPP will be so willing to help. Cause you know, there isn't any free lunch out there. when it's election time, you know who you should give your vote to.For people just want to block this kind of unwanted call. Please check out my post @386-233-3694
Got a call from this number. Looks highly suspicious. Hung up after one ring and didn't leave a message.
Hi Syliva,Getting a unlisted number does not stop the calls. These people take an area and use a computer to go from one number to the next. EG 420-555-1111 then to 1112 then to 1113 then to 1114 etc. So listed or not they come up with your number. So you can't get away from it unless you have a company that you can actually totally block a call so it doesn't come to you. Either that or throw your phone away and use email to get away from it all. These people are just nuts and want to drive you to nutdome. Have a great day.
Well, it's July 2013 and someone from this # is still trying to call and harass people!! I got a call today from them but I did not answer. Don't plan to either.
For the last two weeks I have been receiving multiple calls from 222-222-2222, which I declined to answer...I did a search and found that the calls originated from The Islamic Republic of Mauritania and if you answered the call on a cell phone, photos were sent out to people in your call list. I didn't see what the photos were but the concern was what may have been installed in these phones and what may have been taken from them...Also, it is possible that these numbers may be an activation code for terrorist sleeper-cells here in the United States and the calls are meant to start attacks...I do not know, but if you don't answer these calls and don't allow them to go to your voice-mail then they can't do anything.
