Received a voicemail with an automated voice stating my social security number had been compromised. Called the number back from an office landline. The person that answered had a heavy East Indian accent and answered the phone with a greeting for Social Security. Once the greeting was finished I said "Well that is a blatant lie!" and they hung up on me.
Scam, said to call back to prevent legal proceedings. Saw the other posts on here.
This number says they are Social Security and that I am a victim of identity theft-
Left automated message saying to call this number back to avoid legal proceedings. I knew it was fraud but out of curiosity called it back from another number. Gentleman with an Indian accent said "You have reached the Social Security Administration. How may I help you?" So I hung up.
