Instead of calling 854-0000 back...we looked up and called the main number for Travis Co. (512.854.9020) - the operator said that 854-0000 is the default number that shows up when anyone from the county offices calls.

That is not always the case. I have not had a traffic ticket since January 2nd 1991 and I received a missed call at 2 minutes before midnight.

This semester (Fall 2012), I've been getting calls from this number between 5:59 and 6:01 PM three times a week every week for five weeks. I never get to pick up (save one time) and they never pick up when I call back. The one time I answered, there was only silence.It's definitely Travis County. I am in the legal trouble that would warrant calls from this office. You probably are not.

I got a call from this number and I answered because I have work contacts that don't always show up as the number I have on file, and indeed, are 'neutral' numbers for the respective companies. The woman I talked to claimed to be a woman from the Travis County's Sheriff's Office, don't remember her name, but she asked if I am who I really am, and intrigued I concurred and asked what this was about and she said she was calling to confirm I still had both of my vehicles still in my possession because a vehicle in my name had been reported stolen. Knowing I had my truck, I verified the information she read off, but she asked about my wife's car, I told her she would have to contact wife to verify since she had taken it with her to work. I called my wife to make sure, and yes she had the car, but failed to answer the call from this number. She asked me if it was a scam, so I called back and after 3 minutes with no answer, I hung up. Will call the TCSO tomorrow at their website's listed number (512 - 854 - 9770) to verify this was a legit call from their dept.

I just got called while I was waitomg for my bus, I didn't answer, but I got a VM from som Detective who said something like "Adam this is ......... We wanted to talk to you about a collision almost a year ago with your car involved..." Well Nr. 1 I'm not a guy, Nr. 2 I am 14 Nr. 3 I wasn't even on this continent last year. What is up with this? He left me a number to call back, but I'm not Adam so should I call back saying I'm not or should I ignore and delete it?

Definitely Travis County!!!I owe a $227 ticket and got a call from an officer giving me a courtesy call to pay up or get picked up.

My recent call from this number was about an open warrant for the prior holder of the phone number. She *almost* hung up before I could explain that Rene Beltran had not had this number for several years.I do hope they find her. It won't stop the other calls I get, but...

Call is from Travis County, law enforcement / AG / could be any department or service. I was a witness to a traffic accident and they need further testimony etc.
