Yesterday I paid for a tow truck through my auto insurance company USAA. Tonight this number called asking for my credit card number for a tow, and I told the lady I hadn't requested one! I saw my car myself at the destination and don't want it to leave the mechanics. The lady said she would cancel the tow. I called USAA and they said they had no record of a requested or canceled tow. My tow yesterday had been paid for already, so there was no reason for them to be asking for my credit card number. Could have been a computer glitch but still weird.
Towing truck company called and left computer message (voicemail) that tow truck would be arriving in x number of minutes. This was via liberty mutual road side assistance. So number is legitimate. For those getting spam calls they are probably spoofing the number.
