10/2/2010 at 10:42an received call that rang 2 seconds (recorded on my phone as a 2 second call) and quit. When I opened the cell phone (a full minute after it had stopped ringing because I had to find the d___ thing) it was a missed call from 573-942-8989 (an eastern Missouri area code).Someone in this list of calls reporterd a $35 deduction from their money account for the cell phone. Hope this was not what occurred. Checking with carrier to see--assiming I can get a live respondent (very difficult) from the carrier..

10/2/10 Went to use my phone's phone book to look up a number and I had a missed call from this number. No message. Did not try to call back. Glad to read the other posts about this number.
Also missed call from this number on my area code 716 cell. I'm also on Do Not Call list.
Just called AT & T to alert them of a possible scam. They said the 573 area code is shared by The Dominican Republic and Ohio. Go figure!

I just let it ring as I do not give this number out, therefore I dont answer numbers I dont recognize!
