You are partially correct... the FTC HAS NOT released cell phone #'s to telemarketing companies (check out "Snopes") and you will NOT be charged if they call you. You can call 888-382-1222 or go on line to DONOTCALL.GOV and register, it's very easy and there is no time limit of 5 years, I just did it myself after receiving calls from the nut case in NH.Once you've been registered for 31 days on the "Do not call list" you can file a complaint with the FTC. Go to the FTC web site, they have lots of info.

called my , shared lines work # at 10 am .then my cell at 2:13.think it was just dialing every # in my area code.***-314-*******-424-****

got the call from 603 number.. i didn't answer.. but when i called back from my home phone.. the number was no longer in service..

I received a call on my cell phone on 11/14 at 8:39 PM ET from 603-488-5038. It was a recording offering a free security system if I placed a sign in my yard. Of course this is an outgoing calls line only, so I was unable to successfully call them back. That is why it says it is disconnected or unable to complete call when you call back. I just had this call to my house. We did just purchase a new(2007) vehicle within the last year so I thought this might have been true. Our warranty actually is coming to an end. The 'gentleman' went over the warranty with me and it sounds very simular to what the dealership had already mentioned when we purchased the vehicle. We had a year to decide. Once he gave me the price and how the payments work, I told him I would discuss it with my husband since he was at work and we will give him the call back. He told me he would make a 3-way call. (Red flag) I said no we could call him back, he told me that if I was like most wives I make the financial decisions so it is up to me so just put the deposit on the credit card and they would take it from there. The conversation abruptly ended there. Beware!
