Received phone also on Sunday I sure hope this is legit. I have called that number back and line is always busy.
Also received call and wanted information about me. Said they were vertifying info on my account. Some had charged $2000 worth of clothes on my account.I have called them back numerous times=line always busy
I received a call from this number on this past Sunday(the 26th) They said that they were from Target.Someone from down South had tried to charge $2000 on my account.
Just got a call from this number and I did not answer it. They did not leave a voicemail, As I started typing, it rang again. I answered, and the woman asked for someone named Brian. My name is not Brian, and I don't know anyone named Brian. What is unsettling is that this morning, my bank emailed me about possible fraud on my credit card. I looked on my account, and there was fraudulent activity on the card. So, I closed the account, and they will send me a new one. I wonder if this "Brian" has a hand in it.
A caller from 612-307-5000 apparently identified fraudulent use of my Mastercard. He advised contacting Mastercard and sure enough there were 2 fraudulent charges--one very small and one for a new Nook. The account was immediately closed. What's strange to me is that this phone # is listed for Target Customer Service in Minneapolis, MN. I live in Ohio and at least 1 of the other posts is also from Ohio. I also can't call into 612-307-5000 and not get a busy signal--strange for customer service. Tomorrow I intend to call the store in MN using another # which there should be one if the store really exists. I don't know, all seems very odd to me.
I just got the call from 612-307-5000 ....I let it go to voicemail because i didn't recognize the number....I immediatly went to google armed with the number.....once I knew the number was legit I called back target ( because I have a target visa card )...I was told by Rebecca that Target was compromised and that my card would need to be re-issued.......
This number is totally legit, NOT FRAUD. I work for Target in the Finance Department. You CANNOT call this number back as it is basically a switchboard, not a direct line to anything. If someone from Target Finance calls you from their personal desk, they don't want their office phone number to show up on your caller ID so you can call them back and harass them, just like you wouldn't want them harassing you.All you have to do is be pleasant, answer their questions, explain any discrepancies and Target will be MORE THAN HAPPY to work with you to resolve any issues. Target's #1 concern has ALWAYS been guest satisfaction.
