Got call at work yesterday about bogus bonus points on Visa credit card thru BOA. They asked me to verify my address, and I told them that I knew it was bogus, and I saw the number they were using on my phone screen. I notified my bank, but there is nothing they can do. They did have the last 4 digits of my card. Bank told me there was no point calling the police as so far nothing bad showed up on my statement. Wish there was a way to catch this potential thief.
This is same company that used to call from 3473424904; there is a web site for that number as well. Does the don't call service do any good? I complained about both numbers but have heard nothing.
I am receiving several calls from this 613-333-3456. So far I have not answered them but I wanted to warn others that about 3 months ago I received similar calls from a different number and my husband happened to answer. Some woman with an Indian accent saying they were sending me a 100 gift card could he verify our address. He did not give them any information but they did have our correct address. She then asked if he could verify my visa card. He told her he didn't have my numbers so he couldn't verify them. I don't know why she asked that because apparently they already had my card number. He hung up with her and a week later I had a $4 charge on that visa from a "warranty company" I think they were testing the account, a $4 charge is very easy to overlook. I only caught it because after the phone call I put notifications on my account. The "warranty company" even had a website but you could tell it was a total front when you saw it. If they are calling you, watch your accounts!!!
we received at least 4 calls from them today I told them we were on the do not call list and they had better not call here again, and that I knew that it was a scam.
Called two nights in a row at 11:00 p.m. Told them I was going to report them they disconnected before I could hang up.
I have been called repeatedly this weekend. I did answer the first call as I DO have friends in Canada. Once I heard the background phone bank and the caller's Indian accent (really, how original) I knew it was a scam. My call was about VISA shopping spree I "won" for being an active shopper!!! Whee!! I told the caller stop talking, no I am not interested, take me off your list.
Called my cell phone 3 times today; 10:24am, 1:37pm and 3:36pm. I just tried calling them back and it said it is a non-working # which I see happened to someone else. I used a different phone and blocked my number *67 so I wonder if that created the "non-working" number response.
Unreal I just posted here like 5 min ago about this stupid phone # and they just called me again!! Maybe they are on this site??? Annoying!
They keep calling late at night with the time difference they are a scam please do not call or accept anything from them. Persistent bunch of no good for nothing people. DO not accept scam people.
I got scammed! Any advice I should do besides cancelling my card and reporting to FCC ? I got their call 4 times and I was too busy to mind so I confirmed eveything. After I hung up, I started thinking.... I got $100 for what ? Its too good to be true. What a dumbass. My account is still fine but I'm cancelling my card. Someone catch these [***]! I'm reporting this to the local news also and spreading the word!
