OMG so its 11pm and i got this call. i didn't answer. but got weirded out after i called it back and it said non working # so i googled it and thank you peoople for posting this information
Same thing just happened to me today. They called my cell twice today and I did not answer, but on the third call I decided to answer. I told the woman I did not want the Walmart gift card, and she was persistent saying it already has my name on it. I told her I would report her to the authorities. I have both my cell and landlines registered with the Do Not Call List. The same exact scam was attemped on my landline on 1-18-12 from 814-844-3927. But the caller today has been bordering on harassing. After I told the woman to take me off her list, I got another call from the same number within 30 minutes. I have filed a claim with the FTC, called my credit card to be sure there was no suspicious activity, and I will file a complaint on the Do Not Call Registry next. We'll see. Wish these jerks could be caught.
This number has called me repeatedly and I keep asking them to take me off their list and yet they keep calling. I have answered this number in the past and they said they were affiliated with Best Buy.
How did they get my first and last name? They had last 4 digits of a Visa credit card number and told them no one has the number and I hung up...received 4 calls from morning until 9pm.
Called six times last night between 6:14 and 9:20. I didn't answer. It really freaked me out after reading about the Zappo situation.
