Its a debt collection agency. I'm sure they deal with more companies than just capital one.

No CID since it came to my cell phone. I don't owe any debts so it's probably a scam.

NOT legit!!! They're called me and i NEVER had a Capital One account... The company itself may be legit, but the SCAM is done from "inner" beast as well not just outsiders... Scamming is approved from the highest levels now until they get busted so keep REPORTING them...

ID as Client SVCS and phone number. Do not owe any debts. No message left.

They are not "scammers" in the strict sense... they are third-party "aftermarket" collectors. Capital One closed your account and WROTE IT OFF. At that point it went to your credit report. Damage done. Client Services buys the collection rights to this written off debt for perhaps 2-3 cents on the dollar. They have no legal power to collect the debt... although they are well within the law to collect the money from you IF you are willing to pay it, but they cannot sue you over the debt and they cannot use any involuntary methods to collect it (wage garnish, court order, etc...). It will not come off of your credit report if you pay it, although you can petition the reporting services to "update" your report to show that the debt was paid eventually. The write off will remain on your account however.

This person is trying to tell me I owe a debt that I’ve never owed

This number is a collection agency that buys old past due accounts that were written off and are trying to get some money. Legal in a way, but cannot affect your credit history if it was dropped.

This number has called three times in three days, no messages, no nothing. I'm blocking them. if they have business with me, they can write me a letter. I strongly suspect this is a scam.

Sounds like the number they're calling from and what's on your caller id is no the same. Ever get a call from a scammer and your own number is on the caller id? Caller id is getting spoofed.

Every day for the past few days this number has called me. Never leaves a message. If it is Capital One as I read in one of the comments. I don't have a card , I never have, and I'm not looking to get one at any time soon. Wish they would stop calling as I will never answer an unknown number to me.
