I'm not sure why folks aren't using call blocking services. There are good ones for cell phones that are free and phone company blocking services, for non cell phones, are very inexpensive. It's well worth the investment of a few dollars (if you even have to pay) to not be bothered by these zipperheads. I never get bothered with this number anymore.....or any other scam calls. All I get is a list of numbers that have been blocked.....and this one is always on it. If a new scam number rings through, I just add it to my block list. Only have to answer it once....if I want to. The app I use even tells me if a new number is suspected spam, based on complaints like these, before I even answer.
Ok, J.M., mind telling us what App you're using? We appreciate you going on, and on, and we parallel your thoughts. However, most of the cell phone apps will disrupt and drop a call you're in the middle of which is most annoying. So what is it you're using, and how does it handle two calls coming in?
Caller: In a rude/assertive tone "Can I speak to the person responsible for credit card processing"I said: "I think you've got the wrong number"Caller: "okay" and hung up.
This idiot has called 10 times in less than an hour. insisted on speaking with the owner of the company. very rude as well. when I told him why does he continue calling.
Scam Scam - multiple calls and requests for account information for "analysis" of merchand account Yeah, right
How they get your number is pretty easy. All it takes is you answering one unknown call and it's enough to sell your number along to fellow scammers on down the line. Live phone numbers and email addresses are necessities to scammers, and without anyone answering their calls, or taking their bait, they'll eventually "starve to death". You want to stop it, shut off your answering machines, try and stop unknown calls to get your voicemail and don't answer. That way they get nothing from you to pass along.
They called this morning - they don't know how to take NO for an answer - slammed the phone in her ear after telling her NO and to take us off their call list. Stupid people!!!!
Rec'd call from 646-963-2464. Did not answer. These calls are usually taking advantage of a loophole that lets them make money just because you answered. Once you answer they keep calling so you will answer again to grab the connection long distance type fee they can charge the phone companies as I understand it. That is why they usually don't answer because it is ofter rotodialer that just chugs away.
