The easiest was to close Safari and hold down the shift key and reopen Safari with the shift key down and that took care of my problem. The other way is the way Badge 714's answer and help! really great!
These jerks are GOOD. The best I have ever seen. My advice is to scrub any financial links/logins asap.Then, alas, start all over. I'm 56 and have never been fooled like this. But now it's clear: I AM A DAMN FOOLBut not a stupid fool. We are on Defcon 4 with protection as we all should be!
I received a pop up on my Mac with the number to call. I called and very reluctantly allowed them access to my computer, however when he asked how much I paid for apple care I told him he did not need to know that. I asked if really worked for Apple and he said that he worked for Safari. I told him I was not interested and hung up, but he still had access to my computer. I had to force shut down my computer because he had access. He tried to stop my force quit and was trying to open things on my computer, but after about 20 seconds I was finally able to force shut down my computer. He was only on my computer for a minute or so. Can he get access to my financial information or passwords that I have saved on here? What should I do?

I received a text with this phone number stating that it was from the United States Postal Service and that I needed to open up an urgent notice from them.
called and then hung up, left him a kurt voicemail about wasting peoples time. scammers are prevalent, be careful and don't answer this call
