I got charged $124.90 today and I never go to facebook! Nobody from this number ever called me. I will be at my bank when it opens in the morning. This was charged to my checking account! Probably thru my debit card. This is very frightening to me. I live on a very strict budget.
Had a bunch of charges last month that the bank reversed. Again this month a number of charges amounting to about $200 which the bank wil reverse. Changed my bank account number, and was told to call in my account information when I buy over the net My guess is these crooks are ex employees of Facebrook who know al the secrets. It the charges nwere income to Facebook, they would have gotten back to me when my reversed charges..
Guys, i got 2 charges 289 and 74 on oct 20... sucks - i had panned a vacation abroad and had to cancel my credit card and now my vacation bookings are in a threat as they canceled my reservation due to card being not valid. This sucks these idiots are thieves. The govt take taxes from us and nothing to protect us from these cons. It sucks and i hope my bank reverses the charges. The bank said they cant reverse it and i need to file a dispute claim etc etc. What a stupid thing to deal with.
Just got charged 300 on my business account. The charge shows as: FACEBOOK.COM*CREDITS. The phone number on the charge is 1-650-543-7818. When I call it the voice mail comes up as Jaymee Chafland. This is a fraud. Glad we caught it quickly.
Same as everyone else bank is reversing charges. Charges "appear" on your credit card/debit card statement from the bank.
A $5 charge was placed on my credit card just after mid-night Central time and 25 hours later an attempt was made to put a $200 charge on the same card. My bank's fraud software denied the 2nd transaction. That's the good news. The rest is gross incompetence by my bank's fraud unit and a major problem with how credit card companies deal with fraud.Credit card fraud can be most effectively reduced by blocking fraudulent merchants and by doing more careful checking when merchants sign up to "accept" credit and debit cards. What should be done once I contacted my bank, is they should have checked to see if others have experienced the same fraud. They would have found many cases if they only knew how to look. They then should have contacted each of the networks (Amex, Visa, MasterCard, Discover) so that the merchant would be blocked. They do not do that. I have been doing some checking to see where the compromised card was used by me to see where the fraudster might have gotten my credit card number and expiration date, etc. I have actually checked with the security department of most of the merchants who processed a transaction since this card was issued (fairly recently). Those that I have been able to reach have been able to pull up videos of the actual transaction. Unless one had an undetected skimming device, there is no way my card was compromised at any of those locations. I have been unable to reach one merchant whom I now suspect may have been the source of the leak. Do not just be vigilant about your own accounts. Contact the new financial services consumer protection agency and hopefully they can get the card issuers and networks to take a more intelligent approach to fighting credit card fraud.
these people have also scammed me..Merry christmas to me!!! Nothing like spreading hte holiday spirit!!
I just got charged too and figured out why!Long time ago Facebook gave me a free advertisement coupon worth 20$ and I used it to advertise my website but never activate the campaign!!! I changed my credit card after a previous fraud by another company which was solved through legal procedures but this time I only wanted to purchase 10$ worth of Facebook credits and I was charged over 150$!!!! For some strange reason [***] from Facebook activated the campaign and charged me without any notice!I'm taking this case serious you should all be doing that too! And if you are still being charged go to FB ads and find the campaign! It's no scam by anyone else rather than Facebook! The code 650-543 belongs to Facebook ads!Just wanted to help you guys with that if you haven't figured out yet! Anyway I'll see if I can get my money back through legal procedures but I don't think 150$ worth all that crap!
Just got scammed from face book . This # is bogus. Call the bank, cancel your card and file police report. Alleged company is facebook. They do not have any customer service #'s. The genius is now offering stock options. My option is to try once again to get off of facebook which seems to be impossible also. I'm hardly any pro but do not even give them a paypal acct., cc,debit etc Good luck rd
