Since I got my new phone number a month ago, I get calls from this number every day. Sometimes they call very early in the morning or late at night. The two times I ever picked up, I was talked at by gentlemen in rapid-fire Spanish. Both times, I interrupted and told the men no one in the household speaks Spanish and they must have the wrong number. Both times, the men said, "Oh... sorry." And hung up. Truth is, I do speak a little Spanish, and I got the idea it's a debt collector looking for whoever used to have my number. I searched online for the 686 area code. It is invalid in the U.S., it came up for both Kiribati and Mexicali. In this case, my money's on Mexicali.

Yes. The caller claimed to represent Document Delivery Services and threatened to serve me with papers from a fifteen year old debt. A check with my local County Clerk’s Office revealed no evidence of lawsuit filed.
