These are scams - the admin costs eat up most of what you give them. If you want to help Firefighters and Police - give directly to them - they have bake sales and fund rasiers (sadly as they need to raise money to help keep our communties safe and don't get enough from our taxes).Call you local fire dept - easy to find and ask them how you can help directly but do not fall for this BS. One good organization I am aware of is the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (look them up on line or again call your local FD to see about it's legitmacy) - but the best way to help is to give to them directly.It is sad these scams take money away from where it is needed and most of it goes in their own pockets. (No Conscious) !And yes why do they keep calling numbers on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY - report them through that web site.

Called number back too... March 11th, 2012...Number been disconnected... no longer in service

Has called me the last few days and hangs up on me and the answering machine.I called the number back but got dead silence so I tried again and it did the same thing no ringing no busy signal nothing.

Today is the first time. that I know of, that this number appeared on the caller ID...as I approached to pick up the phone, the answering machine picked up and the caller sat on the line and didn't leave any kind of message. I would really appreciate a message! How can I return a call if no message is left. If the caller doesn't want to leave a message it must not be important enough for a return phone call from me. Just because they don't speak with someone in my home, that is not an invitation for the caller to repeatedly call my home!
