People are using their gmail accounts to call phone numbers in the US and Canada for free.. It is very likely that it is someone you know and no matter where they are from, or who they are, the same number shows up when they call you.

Received a call from 760 705 8888 the caller said he was my son ( used his name) in jail in Canada. He had a Canadian accent. I asked what his birthday was. He started using obscene language, something my son would not do. He ended the call saying he would rote in jail. I hope he does!

I hear these calls are coming from 706 705 8888 a goggle #. Contact them at security@google.com. Its from Google gmail or talk, however Google designed this system with major flaws alloying folks to be harassed and telemarketer from un- identified parties. I must inform Google to stop the feature goggle talk before its linked to crime , murder or rape. I see online these number has been harassing hundreds of folks and class action lawsuit is on its way.

Got a call from this number but there was no one there

My boyfriend's been getting prank calls from 706-705-8888 all day today apparently. He said the person making the call kept saying he was Hank Hill (from the animated series King of the Hill for anyone not familiar). I told him to call Verizon and block the number. Anyone important has his actual phone number and I would suggest to others to also call their provider and just block the number.If you use Facebook or some other social network site, make your phone numbers "Friends Only" or remove them all together.

It's not necessarily someone they know if they have their phone numbers up on Facebook or another social networking site and don't set their number to "Friends Only." If numbers and/or profiles aren't made private, then anyone in their same network will be able to see the number and the rest of their profile info.Even if it is a friend of theirs, they should block the number coming up and their "friend" can actually call them from a number they recognize, but since the majority of people are complaining of multiple calls, especially early in the morning/late at night, I highly doubt it's someone they know. It's more likely to be someone browsing Facebook (or whatever site) for profiles that aren't private and figuring they'll amuse themselves by annoying others. Unfortunately there isn't a way to trace it, though, so people shouldn't worry about who is doing it and just block the number.Google Talk is a great feature, but Google needs to figure a way to stop something like this from happening. If there is a way?
