They called my cell (again) - no message and if you think I am going to publish my private phone number on a public forum to get sold or shared you are totally insane Alan!! I never filled out anything and will report this to the do not call registry that I am signed up with.
I keep getting a call from this 7153923507 but I am always away from my phone. I tried to call back but no one answered. After reading all the comments here, I believe it's a scam. However, I did receive 2 similar calls with "unknown" on my cell display at night and both times I picked up and they said I am automatically entered into a sweepstake as long as I hold a VISA/MASTER/AMER EXPRESS. They mentioned about a magazine, but no credit card info or address or other identifying info was asked for. So I thought, whatever. Probably that's why the same scammer keeps calling me during the day!
They have called several times in the last week, but will not tell me why they are calling when I demand an answer. They will not transfer me to a supervisor either.
I don't have a caller id on my land line phone but received a call from a place that said that I could receive 6 magazines a month for a fraction of the cost. Now today my husband received a call on his cell phone from this number so we tried to call it back and no one answers, no answering machine either. We did a reverse number lookup and no luck there. I googled it and ran across this ad, this is scary because now they have our cell phone numbers as well. I used to live in Superior WI so we thought it was an old friend trying to call but guess not.
These people keep calling and I know they were "phishing" or were going to hit whatever credit card number they could get from me with charges in someway or another. They are obviously are engaged in some kind of illegal "boiler room" activity. I started getting this caller after visiting NBC television's official site for Deal or No Deal and entered the "magic case contest" , a home viewers contest to win 10,000 dollars that NBC runs during the broadcast of Deal Or No Deal. Has anyone mentioned this in a complaint against this number? I have a "MagicJack" and no listed number. The only place I handed my number out to recently was to NBC as an entrant for its 10,000 dollar give away at each new airing of Deal or No Deal as I stated earlier. After entering that is when I started getting the phone calls. 2 again as of yesterday according to my call log.
Received a call stating I won a thousand dollars because I am super. Once he stopped rambling and asked for my birthdate I hung up the phone.
I get a call from them at least once every other day. No one ever answers and after six seconds the line goes dead. I've never spoken to anyone and never gotten any "Shopping Spree" or magazines. My advice, though, is if you do get a call saying you won something, whether you have to pay anything or not, deny the call. Don't accept the free stuff, and if they ask for your credit card information, don't be stupid and fall for it. It's obviously a scam.
