I get a call from these people every single day! I've answered on occasion and got dead air. When I call the number back, someone answers, so I ask who they are and what they want. The answer I got was, "we're telemarketers and we're paid to call you." He wouldn't tell me who was paying them to annoy folks, but from reading these posts, I'm assuming its Comcast. Apparently Comcast is selling our information. Now, that is a no no according to the privacy act. If this is in fact true, Comcast has some explaining to do.If Comcast wanted more business, why wouldn't they call folks themselves?I've spoken to GCS and begged them to stop calling me, so far they still call every day. I've emailed them, they still call. I'm at my wits end with these people.I'm thinking about filing a report against Comcast and GCS because both of them are in violation of the privacy act.I'm about to call the police.
I was looking through my Google Voice history log and I see that this number called my number. GV made it so it never rang through because "the crowd" determined that he is a phone spammer. I would like to thank all of you on this forum for complaining. I guess someone is listening!
I have been getting calls from these people non-stop for the last week. They say they are from Comcast and actually propose some pretty great cable deals to me. They did say that I can call 1-800-XFINITY if I decide I'm interested, which makes it seem like Comcast and this company are in fact linked somehow. They keep calling anyway. I just got an answer when I called back, man named John. He says it will take 30 days to remove my phone number from the list and that I may receive a couple more calls within that time. Comcast customer service says that they are not related in any way and that any offers from them are invalid. We'll see what happens.
This number calls me almost everyday (and hangs up)!I'm so glad to have found this page. Now I know who the culprits are and how to get off their list.If only I'd known about Comcast's criminal incompetence and mercenary tactics before - I would never have signed up for their service.Like one of the posters above, they screwed up my account and then charged me to fix it, but only after I called repeatedly. How is cheating and harassing your customers good business?
This makes sense to me. However, I was intrigued with the timing of my recent spate of harrassing phone calls. They started out with daily phone calls from Comcast. I finally asked them to take my cell phone # off of their phone list (I don't know why they were calling my cell anyway, instead of the land line THEY installed for me!) They said what you said, that since they had a business relationship with me, they were free to call me. So, ok, fine. Those phone calls stopped, but a week later, I started getting the calls from GCS instead. Here's my question. If Comcast agreed to take me off of their marketing list, doesn't that mean they aren't allowed to give my number away to their third party affiliates too?Hopefully that e-mail address listed above will help. Maybe I'll just start getting calls from a different 3rd party affiliate. How I wish I had Verizon Fios or Direct TV capability in my apartment...Thanks for everyone's help!
I called them back at the number from which they phoned. I said I wanted to be removed from the calling list, and they said it will be done, and that I would "no longer receive promotional calls from Comcast", or something to that effect. I was not asked for my name or e-mail address or any other information. I know people have mentioned the DNC list, but if you've done business with a company recently, they or their adjuncts can legally call you. The question is whether this is a legitimate adjunct of Comcast. If I continue to get calls from them, I'll let you all know--and I will file a complaint with the feds.
They keep calling my daughters phone - never a person on the line so she never picks up anymore. They left a jumbled message and continuely calls at least 2 x a week. It is really disturbing that who ever this is has this must time on their hands to continually call ppl.
