Received call identified themselves as Dealer Services - offering 5yr extended Warranty to 100,000 miles on my car which they had details of as well as my address and obviously my Cell phone number. They explained the plan - initial up front fee then 6 - 9 months to pay of the plan - was i interested. When I asked them to email or send me the proposal a second person came on. He offered to mail out the policy but I need to pay the initial installment - when I refused he angrily said well good luck to you have a nice day.Sorry this has to be a scam - no professional customer service company would ever act like that
I just got a call from this number and answered it. The lady said, "May I speak with xxxx xxxx (me)". I said, "who is this". She said she was with Dealer Services and wanted to talk with xxxxx xxxxx. I said, "what is this regarding"? She said, "is this xxxx xxxx". I said, well, what's this regarding? She said, "It's about the Dodge Caravan (this is a car I bought 4 years ago but sold 2 years ago)." I said, "what's it about?" She said, "I can't tell you what it's regarding until i know I'm speaking with the right person". I said, "well, you called me, so tell me what it's regarding and then I'll tell you if you're speaking with the right person." Before I could finish the last sentence, she interrupted me and said, "look, never mind. You know what? You'll find out what it's about when you get the cancellation notice." Then she hung up.Based on the comments on this website, I think this company gets your name/number/address when you buy a new car. Then, they schedule you for a call a few years down the road when whatever warranty you purchased is going to be expiring and they try to sell you another extended warranty. What she didn't know, is that I don't own that vehicle any more which tells me, they got my information years ago. What concerns me, however, is that the number she called me on is a new number for me, and yet she knew my name and the kind of vehicle I owned well over 2 years ago. That is alarming.
Got a call from this number and the conversation went like this: Gentleman #1: Hello Joe, How are you today? Joe: Fine and you? Gentlemen:1 Good, would like to offer you an extended on your vehicle (knew make and model). How many miles are on it? Joe: About 95,000. Gentlemen #1: Hold while I pull up the rest of your information.......... Haviere: Hello, this is Haviere. Now that your vehicle is got nearly 100k on it we would like to offer you a 4yr extended warranty. Wouldn't if be better to pay a $100 deductible when your car needs repairs istead of the full repair bill.Joe: Yes, if it was to tear up.Haviere: What do you mean, every car needs repairs at some point.Joe: Laughing, I said yeah I guess your right.Haviere: Oh, you think this is funny? Well "Take it deep homo"!!!!! and hung up!
Just got a phone call from this #. Bubbly-sounding broad asking for my husband. When I said "This is his wife, may I ask who's calling?" there was a pause and then the line went dead.
These folks called me tonight. They confirmed my name, stated my warrantee was up and asked the mileage on my Toyota. I told them it was none of their business, and that I am on the "do not call registry. He said there was no such thing, and if I continue to talk to him that way he would make sure they never stopped calling. I asked how I could reach them and he acted like he was going to give me his cell number, area code 802. Can you believe it? He threatened me in my own home. Yet they are still in business. I reported it on the registry, but my experience is that makes no difference. He’s right. It’s bogus.
I got a call from a man who sounded psycho. He asked to speak to me and when I said I wasn't in, because I thought it was a telemarketer, he proceeded to say that ask why. Was I at work? He mentioned calling about the Lexus and that he had spoken to me before and was supposed to meet up with me today....? Weird as heck. Sounds like a scam. Had my address number. Very strange. Glad to see it was a scam.
