Got a call from 775-293-4515 showing on the caller id. 775 area code is northern Nevada - Carson City area. I ive in southern Nevada so I answered it. It was a guy who barely spoke English allegedly from the Police Protective Fund. He gave me his TIN 74-286446 and a phone number of 800-262-1163 if I would call back and donate. I asked him where 74 is because Nevada has a TIN of 05 or 08. He said I could talk to his supervisor if I wasn't satisfied with the info. He gave me their website which is www.policeprotectivefund.org. I checked it out and is seems legit but I am skeptical because I am married to a police officer.
A person named Bryan said he was calling for a company representing fallen police officers and asked for a donantion. When I politely declined, he screamed "Go to ----!" and hung up on me. I'm wondering if this may be a scam rather than an authentic fund raiser? Called the local sheriff's office and they said it was not one of their fund raisers.
Received a call at 8:30 pm from 775-293-4515. No one answered, and I hung up. I will report this number to ATT tomorrow.We have been receiving numerous calls from some of the numbers listed on 800notes.

08/20/08 Received call from 775-293-4515 @ 11:30 am. They hung up on me. I called the number and the voice mail box was full.I will report them to the dnc list.
got a call on my cell from 775 293 4515. I have been reading the other posts and any call from ANYONE purporting to represent the Police Protective Fund or any variation of that name SHOULD BE regarded as bogus. Additionally, if I continue to get these type of calls from the 4515 number then I am the type of person who writes letters. You know, to the Federal Trade Commission, to the provider (that I understand is Verizon) and to a whole host of other alphabet agencies. This acting as a victim is for the birds. Fight back. Learn to write letters like I do. Make that guy's life miserable instead of your own. The Federal Trade commission website is www.ftc.gov
