Got the police protection fund call from this number tonight, started asking him questions about the "charity," he hung up.
This caller has called our home phone number numerous times, but hangs up before the message recorder has a chance to pick up. When I dial it, a message comes on saying their 'mailbox is full', so I can't leave a message. I found out the number 775-293-455 by dialing *69. On a reverse phone number website I found out the call came in from Ely, Nevada and is a Verizon cell phone.
rec'd call from 775-293-4515....call was dead, no one spoke, I called them back and got the same message it seems everyone else is getting...mailbox is full and not accepting messages. Does anyone have any idea WHO this can be?
I have received MANY calls from this number claiming it iis the "Police Protective Fund." A character with a foreign accent named "John" has been the caller several times. The first time i received a call from this number, I checked with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, and they informed me in no uncertain terms that police organizations in Nevada do NOT solicit funds by phone or otherwise.She told me to call the Nevada State Attorney General's Office. I did. I'm STILL getting calls. Maybe "John" is Osama bin Laden. Is it REALLY that hard to catch a scmmer like this?
Somebody from this number has called my house twice in the past two weeks. The first time they asked my husband for a donation to something. The second time they called my 13 year old daughter answered and couldn't hear the guy on the other end because there was music blasting in the background. He hung up on her. I tried calling the number back and get a message that the mailbox is full and I can't leave a message.My caller ID said ELY both times this person called.
