Lastnight i got IM'd to my cell from a yahoo user named stephanie4220000 she said that she was looking up Home partys on yahoo and found me..she gave her number..i called her..from then she began to ask questions about my business (i sell Pure Romance). I assumed she wanted to book a party, but then the convo changed to her wanting to become a consultant. I answered every question in a professional manner. After an hour of her asking questions. She started asking about certain products...then confessing that she is an inside the closet lesbian. (Stephanie said she has a husband and daughter) after getting really "excited" about some certain products and coming on to me i finally asked to end the conversation. She had a really high pitched almost kid like computer generated voice also it was very raspy. I didn't think anything of it until i looked up her IM on yahoo..and it is non-existant. I also so where a Passion Party consultant "talked" to her 3 years ago and had complaints....
that number is not from iraq.. or afghanistan. what they do is transfer their calls to the base that is closer to you and it appears as if it's a local call.
She said she was from Windows and they were offering technical support. Supposedly our computer was sending a signal to them that indicates our computer is infected with a virus. I told her we had our own support and we would have it checked.
This number comes up BLOCKED but I have a unmasking service on my phone to show the number that is being blocked. It then unmasks it as 1-777-777-7777. I pick it up everyonce in a while and I do get a person asking for me by name. I usually give the phone to someone else when I do pick it up. I don't know who it is but you would think after the 500th call and you being sent to a voice mail that says this number is no longer in service that you would give up! (Trapcall is the app btw) I get a phone call hourly on my cell phone!
I answered the call. They said they were from some online thing to help you look for a college. I told the guy I waas already in school and he just jept repeating what I was saying and acting like he couldn't hear me. I had a feeling he just wanted to keep me on the phone for some reason. Whatever number it is imust ne some sort of scan. Don't answer itm it was also creepy cause he knew my name so I'm changing all my passwords and stuff in case I've been scanned or hacked.
Lady with an Indian sounding accent called, said she was from Windows and they were offering technical support. Supposedly our computer was sending a signal to them that indicates our computer is infected with a virus.I told her that this was a scam and hung up.Might be best to ask her to wait while you start up computer, then leave hanging until they hang up, if that works for you. That will reduce the number of people they can try to scam, including those who are naive about such things.
