Woman with an accent said I was awarded a grant from "the government" of $7,000. Said I was to call 206 573 5263 and give the "finance officer". a Steven Jackson my award number. I hung up as she said she was transferring me. Obvious Scam!

Reverse lookup says "789" is an invalid area code, so the number is spoofed. That's the first sign of a scam-spam. This garbage probably originates in some country that needs to have any calls outside its own borders blocked off, along with its Internet access.

Male caller spoke with foreign accent could have been Russian, Ukranian, Romanian - someone from that region. He told me I'd received 1 of 3 grants from the United States Government because I had a clean record, no bankruptcy and one other point. He asked for me to repeat whether or not I understood each element of his question. He then said that US Government will never ask you for personal information, phone number, social security number etc and did I understand that. He then said I would need to speak to somebody else and he wanted me to take a phone number down. I hung up at that point. I'd been getting calls from this number several times a day for a week. I finally picked up out of curiosity. Also, in addition to this number showing up on my screen it said the call was from United States.

I spoke to woman with foreign accent who called from the govt federal grant. When I said I got calls like this all the time she hung up. When I called back a machine came on
