Bad things happen to good people it disturbs me greatly that BB&T employees are trolling this forum to engage in or spy on responses. Do not pass judgement on people you do not know. In my state, unknown numbers, collections, etc. are not allowed to leave messages on your phone so this site is helpful to make sure you are not being scammed. I work 2-3 jobs because my wife is disabled and we like most parents made mistakes in helping children out with co-signing and such and we are doing our best. I have not had a raise in 5 years at my primary job where I have been underpaid 5k plus according to the step-pay contract I signed. If I sue the state, I'd get fired. It is a right to work state. At 51 years of age, there is not a lot of options out there especially with unemployment so high.

Get TimeWarner and you can block their calls. I just did. I am self-employed (two businesses in the service industry) and have to wait for my customers to pay me so that I can pay my bills. I know what I owe, who I owe, how much I owe and when it is due. Phoning me at my place of business, every day, for a week isn't going to get me to pay my bills any faster.I am at the mercy of my customer's payment me.So there BB&T - you are blocked. I will block every number that you call from. Spending my time talking to your "collection employees" is a waste of MY TIME - billable time. You are preventing me from making a living.So there!

This is absolutely unreal. The 800-222-1913 number is not a scam and you can actually locate it on BB&T's website. If it calls you it is only because you owe some sort of debt or they have the wrong number. I understand not wanting to give out personal information over the phone, but what is someone going to do with your address or name? That's public information in all honesty. You can ignore them, but I promise you that the fee's or late bills won't go away. Also, getting an attorney or lawyer is pointless when you have entered into a contract with BB&T that clearly states all consenting parties recognize that potential collection practices may be used in the event that your account goes past due or accumulates unpaid debts. And there's a reason almost every functioning company has a collections department - to collect debts. Associates who work in the branches do not have this sole responsibility and that is why very few to absolutely zero times will they personally call you to inform you that you haven't paid your bill. As hard as the economy is, the world keeps turning and in order for it to turn people/businesses need their money. Talk as much trash as you want about collectors but I work hard, pay my bills, treat every client like a friend, and have a promising future doing what I do. How much can you pay today?

Dear Idiot- I am so glad that your education advanced your career so much that you are a lowly debt collector. You probably didn't even need a high school education for that did you? Anyway, I paid my car off 3 months ago. I owe nothing and cannot get your incredibly competent institution to send me my title, but they are trying to collect a debt that no longer exists. I am a lawyer and guess what? This looks like a class action to me after some investigation. With any luck I can put enough hurt on your company so your job is too expensive to do in the U.S. and goes to India. Good luck with no job and I hope you never have a time when you have a hard time paying bills. You really are a moron so another profession looks doubtful.

A "company" that doesn't give its name...just a phone number...doesn't send requests for payment through the mail along with legal documents to prove the debt...has idiots like you who troll sites such as this in an attempt to paint yourself in a better light...you can't be that stupid. Really? Never heard of this bank! But they call me all the time. They don't even have any correct information just my first and last name. So don't just assume that everyone who receives a call from BBT is doing so because they owe a debt.
