Claims to be capital one. When answered the phone, it hangs up. Calling back, it says "thanks for calling capital one. This call may be recorded" followed by a beep sound as if they want you to leave a message. Wtf, come on man.
Called, asked for me and that they were calling on a recorded line. I said that I don't speak on recorded lines. They hung up

I get calls from this number at least 4 times every day. When I answered they said they were from capital one, I told them I have no card from capital one or anywhere that deals with capital one. I asked them to stop calling and they said they were trying to collect a debt that is past due, I have no debt or bills that aren't paid. I told them this and they told me if I didn't pay they would take me to court, so I hung up on them. I called the number for capital one on their website and they said that number is not associated with them and belongs to a debt collection agency and I would need to talk to them regarding any calls. Beware of fake debt collection claims and make sure you check everything before you give any info or pay anything.
FYI, Capital One just took over the DressBarn credit card, possibly others too. Could be about a store credit card you may have.
