I got a call from this number saying they received a signal that my home alarm system was sending out a low-battery signal. I don't even have a home alarm system and never have. Don't know where they got my number, but I know I'm sending any future calls from this number straight to voicemail.
So this is about an alarm system.. odd because I don't own an alarm system, let alone a house. How do these people get my number? Its a private residence.
The comments claiming that this number may be a "phisher" are quite revealing. I canceled my inferior home monitoring service with Monitronics, who may or may not originate calls from this number, and since a day or two after cancellation have received robocalls from this number at least twice a day since then, around June 1, 2009, in spite of my callmenot.com device which intercepts the call and generates the no-longer-in-service tone. I can't report them to the FCC, as I actually did have a business relationship with them at one time, but I certainly can ignore them and urge anyone else reading this never to purchase an alarm system from them, especially since they seem to have gone from monitoring service to harassment.
I had talked to my security provider for a techinical question. Why should I be contacted again?
I don't answer, but to be awakened at 7:30 on a Sunday morning is more than I can accept.
They said there was a trouble signal coming from my house. The alarm wasn't even set so there was no reason for them to be calling. This seemed very odd to me.
Do you test your alarm weekly to make sure it is communicating? Did you change phone service perhaps that may have disconnected the phone service from the alarm system?
Trouble signals can be sent when alarm is disarmed. Such as low backup battery, AC loss, or trouble with a sensor such as tamper.
