I received a call from this company, but wondered why a collection agency would use a cell number. I believe this is a scam and I want the calls stopped.
They call me all the time and call numbers that are not even attatched to me ! I wish I could get them to stop I can't even imagine what this is from !
i have phone calls from 800-459-0766and also 800-459-0835 everyday!!! for 2 months now.i called the first number and the automatic female voice says ERC but couldn't contact anyone.i called the second number and a gentleman picks up and says ERC how may i help you? so i told him that they got the wrong number. try both numbers. it's same place.
I just got a new cell number today and already got two calls from this number, which prompted me to google it. Yes, it definitely smells like a scam.
I was called at my office from this number. It is a Government Line, (US Army). I was in a meeting at the time, and didn't answer the call, but decided to google the number. I don't have any outstanding debt, so I can only assume that they are looking for somebody that used to work here, since the number in my office is not listed and not published in any directory.
Received a call from 800-459-0766. A woman politely identified herself as being with Enhanced Recovery Corp, a collection company attempting to collect a $56 debt for Sprint. She asked to speak to my wife. I have had no account with Sprint for over a year and haven't changed my mailing address since switching from Sprint. I have not been receiving any bills from Sprint and the phone was in my name, not my wife's name. I did not tell the lady these details but asked why Sprint would turn over any outstanding balance to a collections company when they have my address and I always paid my bills in full. She said the bill dates back to 2007. I asked her to mail a statement pertaining to the account to me and I would review it and be happy to settle it once I have reviewed it in writing. My suspicion is that someone is attempting identity theft and when I call Sprint for answers, I'll be ready to call the police and give them the number to pursue proper follow up. $56 is not much however if I had said, "No problem," and paid it over the phone, what sudden additional surprises might be charged to my plastic after these scammers have my name and card information? There's no way any outstanding balance exists from 2 years back without reflection in later statements and under my wife's name when the account never even had her name anywhere on it! The only other possibility would be if someone put her name and our home phone number on an account that we did not benefit from and then skipped out of paying with intention to let it fall upon us when the collection agency takes over. This would also be some kind of identity fraud but Sprint would then be obligated under my constitutional rights to prove how my wife is responsible for the debt. I'm concerned with this affecting her credit score and will file suit against Sprint if they have erroneously reported my wife as delinquent on an account that they can not demonstrate is genuine.
