This is, in fact, a valid company calling on behalf of Bank of America. If you are past due on one of your accounts held with them, they are contacting you to resolve this matter. I would highly recommend you don't ignore these messages, in an effort to keep your credit rating in tact. If you ignore them for any length of time, they will report you to the credit agencies and send your account to collections.
I, also, have BOA credit card and have received calls from this number. However, my account is up to date and I have been making way more than the minimum payment for the past few months. Enough people have credit cards with BOA and are behind on payments that they can say they represent BOA collections and it seems legit to many people. Smells like a scam to me!
Got call from this number, thought it was scammer so I didn't give them any info. Instead called Bank of America directly -- they confirmed that it was someone from their company, and they let me know that I was a couple days late on payment... that's all the call was about.WHEN YOU GET A CALL LIKE THIS, politely hang up and call BofA DIRECTLY to ensure you are dealing with legitimate employees of Bank of America. Fortunately for me it wasn't a scammer or debt collecter, just a friendly reminder that I was late on a payment.Always good to be cautious :)
Have posted 11 calls in the last few days. My Phone Zap never lets them thru (computer calls). I had a mistake with a BoA card and I discussed it with BoA as soon as I found out about it. I don't need to talk to a debt collector.
Received several calls from this # at work today while I was away from my desk, but they will not leave a message. After doing research online, discovered that this number belongs to FIA Card Services, representing Bank of America. I have never owned a Bank of America credit card or had any accounts held with Bank of America. Don't even have a BOA in my hometown. Waiting for them to call back so I can see what type of bogus questions they ask. I have plenty of bogus answers to give.
This number is a scam. They wanted my DOB and Address. They had the last four of my account number. Not sure how they got it. Didn't give any info, then called BOA and talked with member services and was told we don't use or know who FIA Card Service is. So if get a call from them DONT give them any info and contact BOA about the issue....
Go online to the Consumer financial protection bureau, a new government agency, and file a complaint. This new federal 'watch dog' agency will quickly get them to stop. CFPB will issue a 'cesist and detest' order and you will never hear from the credit again. Your Obama dollars at work.
I recieved a call today from a woman that could not speak very good english , stating she was from BOA card services and she needed to verify important information concerning one of my credit cards...Mothers maiden name, My date of birth, My last four of my social and full card #....I told her I was reporting the number as scam and to the police she hung up very quickly!!
Calling my DNC number nearly daily now. I don't have any credit cards and have not for over 30 years and never had any dealing with BOA. Could not really tell what the company name is as their accent shows that english is not their native or spoken language. They start out wanting a card number from me! I'm sure it is a scam but blocking the number, they only call using another forged number the next day. They know my phone is answered and don't care about our laws and don't have to brains to realize that we've seen through their scam ages ago.
