I received calls repeatedly from this number. Sometimes they have called as many as 5 times in a couple of hours. How do I make them stop!
Agreed about the greed. Our taxes have bailed out the banks several times in recent history; the savings & loan debacle in the G.H.W. Bush era and now the sub-prime mortgage + investment bank / AIG / Morgan Stanley bailout. These banks use a computer to call you! That computer works tirelessly, it's real cheap to operate, and it puts humans out of a job. That is simply wrong and not good for us.
Computer generated that states, "Please hold the line, then waits and repeats, "I'm still trying to connect." When I call back it just states press in your extension number and that it is Credit Card Services. I have an adult son that has not lived with me for years that has some outstanding debt. I am on a DNC list and get calls all the time for them trying to collect from him. I also get calls randomly from debt collectors trying to collect from anyone that has the same last name as mine. I am all for people working, but if they have to support themselves by jobs as harrassing as this it is pitiful.
These people call me about 25 times in a single day. I know its NC and I already talked to them. I send my payments but they will keep calling until there is no longer a balance. It sucks.
I got this call today from a person named MIA who said there was a problem with my account. She didn't mention what account. I'm not calling back but I see they keep calling my phone. The number they leave me is 1-800-544-3623 ext. 50381. What is this about?
Yes this is National City. They start calling every month when our credit card payment is about 10 days past the due date. NCB is one of the most worst companies to deal with, almost as bad as Citifinancial. Since PNC bought them out, there is a really rotten collection agency that calls people, even if the bill is less than 30 days past due. The worst was a call we got from NCB the Sunday morning after Thanksgiving. The bill had been due Monday so the payment (around $100) was less than a week past due. The woman on the phone threatened to take us to court (for 6 days late?!) and made some other bogus threats. I asked that they not call on Sundays, especially on a holiday weekend, and she told me they can legally call 20 times an hour until the bill is paid. After I hung up with her, she immediately called my work phone--I know because it rings in my house. I guess she was going to try to harass me at work also. That was not the only bad collection call from them, just the one that I remember. To those who say talk to these people--sometimes that works and they will set up helpful payment arrangements. But many times it does not work and they know you don't have the money to pay them yet they still call just to harass.
You are wrong National city does all its own collections! PAY YOUR BILLS DEAD BEATS
