This is a valid call. Comnity bank issues bunch of stored cards ie: Talbots, Lane Bryant and many others. You are probably just letting the late fees/interest build up if you don't deal with them. I confirmed that this was a real call by calling the store my card was issued from first and they actually patched me through to Comnity. Turns out I had a balance due on the card.
This is a message from Community Bank. Please make it a priority to return this call today regarding a matter of personal inportance at 800-695-1063. Again that number is 800-695-1063. I also got a customer service phone that has been disconnected 1-800-427-7790.
The message left said I needed to call about an urgent matter regarding my account. When I called, it immediately asked for my account number (I typed in a fake one) and last four digits of my social security. I hung up at that point.
I do not have a bank account with you guys so I do not know why you are calling me
I got the same message as Mam above. It got the first message on 9/28, another on 9/29. Lots of banks call themselves Community Bank. I think the message is clearly a scam of some sort.
I got a call from them saying the same thing as listed above. They left a number for call back but the caller id said they were calling from number 10000000000.
These are REAL calls from COMENITY BANK. They call as a courtesy regarding past due balances. They provide BRANDED credit cards to businesses. An example is Pier I Imports. Confusing as if you have, say, a Pier 1 Imports credit card, you know you have a Pier 1 card, but usually are not aware and thinking that it is really a Comenity Bank Credit Card. If concerned about the validity of ANY call, but believe you know the card or account in question, simply call the number on the back of the card, and let them know you received a call, and ask if it was real, and if so, what it was about. IGNORING a real call could be detrimental to your credit and so while you should ALWAYS be cautious and careful about who you share your info with, you MUST do your DUE DILIGENCE and make sure that the call isn't real, before ignoring it.
