Said I needed to call them with the PG&E account number by 5 p.m. today. If PG&E is calling the number on file with the account they "DO NOT" need your account number

called my cell phone several times before, disguised as a company asking me to pay a bill. first time happened a couple months before, I called back and found out they are spam. their caller id appears as "unknown" and when you pick up someone real actually talks to you. tell them you have your number registered on the national do not call list, and write online to tell the public who they really are.

Received a call from 800-743-0040 today claiming to be from PGE asking me to provide my account number and details. Seems scammy to me.

Said that they were PG&E and to call them back with my account number at 800-743-0040. A very well done recorded message. But my guess is that it's a scam. The number they were calling from said it was PG&E, but that's spoof-able. And the callback number was not the same. And the callback number does not seem to show up on any PG&E site as real.

Claiming to be from PG&E they left a message with call back number 800 743-0040 regarding the "residential bill" and stated that it is important that I call back before 5pm and have my account # listed on my bill handy. The recorded message sound professional but1.) They did not call a residence. 2.) If is was PG&E they would already have my account #. I found this site while searching for a realPG&E number to call and report this scam.

A voicemail was left stating that the call was from PG&E and the account holder should call 1-800-743-0040 before 5pm today. I did not call, because the callback number seemed fishy. The voicemail itself had the PG&E phone number as the caller - 1-800-743-5000. The voicemail sounded very professional, but I wondered why they didn't already have my name. So I searched online with the phone number and found this site.

this appears to be the number for a list of third party power providers and is most likely one of those third party providers trying to get you to sign up with them at a xxx rate.
