This is legitimate . . . after getting a call yesterday, stating that I had 3 fraud charges (Asian airline tickets and such) they verified the info that others here have noted then stated I would be getting a new card. That night I laid in bed worried that I had got scammed and gave out my mother's maiden name and such to someone other than my CC company. This morning I called First National Bank and they confirmed that my account had been locked and that I was being issued a new card, and that is was indeed their fraud department that had called me. You're a-okay if this number calls you, call them back ASAP!!!
This is legit call. I did not trust it either and called the number on back of my card. Small fraudulent amount charged and was notifying me they are issuing a new card.
This call is legitimate. Fraud prevention for the bank. I called the number at first and was not comfortable so I called the number on the back of my card for Lost and Stolen cards. They transferred me back and I spoke with the same card person I had previously spoken with. A hold was placed on my account until I could verify my charges. I was unable to use my bank card until verification of charges was made.
FRAUD - The representative who answered the phone stated he worked for the First National Bank Of Omaha. Confirmed that she does not have any bank cards with them. Pulled up her account at the bank and confirmed her card was not on hold andthere weren’t any suspicious charges on her account.
I was left a message with this number. As I called it I also looked it up online and found this thread. I hung up and called the number on the back of my First National Bank of Omaha credit card. After I punched in it sent me to a hold line for the fraud prevention section. I'm thinking it's legit (or they've tapped into the FNBO phone system and had call redirected). I am currently on hold. Will update the status asap. - Update: Apparently some charges were made to my card. They have blocked it and are sending me a new one and having fraud specialists contact me. It was very creepy trying to verify that I was actually talking to a rep though. Who can you trust??
It is legit. What got my attention is that the call came in as unknown and they left a message with a call-back number. I called the number on the back of my card, and it was indeed the Fraud Prevention branch of First National Bank of Omaha in regards to my Credit Card.
Got a call from 1-800-877-7408 said they were 1st National Bank of Ohama. Being a bit suspect, I called the # on my Visa card and was told it's a legit call and that someone had tried to make 2 $400+ purchases with my card. Both were decined by my bank. Some dirty rotten Mofo passed my VISA # out I asked if they could tell who tried using it, but they only had info on the company that declined it, not the MoFo userI rarely ever use it to buy anything. New card in the mail. and will never buy ANYTHING from anybody over the internet ever again, (cept maybe for Amazon)
Too bad the less expensive stuff found on Amazon isn't available offline. An ethernet wire sold offline for 10 bucks or more can be found on Amazon for 2 bucks plus shipping.
A man called Steve said he was from 1st National bank of Omaha. I had fraudulant activity on my debit card. I called a bank number and found this not to be true.
