Science guy is right, if you simply write them your phone number will be removed and you'll stop getting calls. I had the same problem you did and wrote them last month- the calls have stopped.

I hate automated messages! Called wanting to get an important message to my daughter. After several attempts to get the "send Message" option; it wanted her to call 888-486-7284 within 24 hrs from the number it automated system called. Impossible for her since she cannot hear! I don't think her auto loan is through CapOne anyway; this sounds like a scam.

Got one on 6/23/2008 at about 3:52 in Ohio and i dont have a capital one car loan or credit card.

I do not have any business with capitol one but I got call today and lady was asking for Julle Patel which I am not neither do i know this person so hung up. Strange.

I do have a car loan with Capital One, & this was a reminder that the payment was about due. The recoding left an 888 # for me to call back within 24hrs. The message sid to call on the phone I rec the message on. When I called this 888 # there was a recording with my name on it and to verify that it was me they asked for the yr I was born to be entered. It then gave me my acct #. The recoding then said when my payment was due & how much it was. Ther were options to make different types of paymnets also. Online, on phone, mail etc.

The number is Capital One but the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. They want you to call them back and arrange payment over the phone for which they will gladly charge you $14.95 for the privilege, OR go to the website and arrange the payment for free. No, the call center does not have up to date info on the status of your payments which is why they don't have any clue about a payment made online for about a week after it posts. It's annoying. Save yourself the money if you need to make the payment - do it online.

they called 11 times in one day, the best thing to do if you are late and have these collection calls is to get a free voicemail number and set it to answer immediately - then when they call and leave mesages you have a record - they are also having collection calls from india now

Called me today for no apparent reason. Dont have a loan or cc active with them. Filed complaint at donotcall.gov FU Capitol one, enjoy the $10000 fine.

Capital One unethically calling my friends and family despite repeated contact with them by me telling them that my payment will be 7 days late. They call even after written notification that they can't harass my employer, family and friends. Sure, it's against the law, but they know that they won't ever be held accountable Folks, let me beg of you not to ever get a loan or credit card with these people. You will regret it I promise you. Even when I pay on time, their collection computers have not registered my payment and they call despite every time admitting the error. But no matter who you talk to the person has no power to stop their automated computer from continuing the harassing phone calls. They get paid last now. Just because no one will prosecute them they think they are above the law.
