It seems to be UPS and they probably called the wrong number.They called my office direct line at 8am. I wasn't there.The begining of their message was hard to understand but they said something about an international invoice that I need to pay. They left an account number and a phone number (this number with 2525 at the end instead).I called back by the end of the day and their office was closed. East Coast?The greeting message said it was UPS, but the message didn't sound very professional, so it might be a scam.

Same thing, they said they were UPS and I had to give them my soc. sec number to recieve my package from hong kong. They knew my name so that kind of freaks me out!

Woman said she was calling from UPS. Indicated she had a package for me from the Netherlands and that I had to give my SSN to release the package. I told her it was a scam and she let me talk to her supervisor. He said they already had my name & address but needed a form of vefication for customs for the package to enter the US. In the mean time, I Googled the phone # that came up on my phone and saw these other complaints. I told him I was smarter than they were, that they were NOT UPS and they were a scam and I hung up on them.

Same situation as above. I went one step further and actually called UPS to verify the request. They told me that they would never ask for that information. I wanted to give them the number because I thought companies cared about their customers getting scammed but they told me they didn't. I'm glad these sites exist. This is a scam, UPS will NEVER ask for a social or anything else sensitive like that.

Same call. She knew the merchandise that was sent and wanted $76 dollars for duty charges from Canada. It hit me as odd that UPS would pick up and deliver a package without collecting all fees. I asked her name, she said Terry and changed the subject when I asked for a last name and said I'm calling my lawyer. Just pissed me off at the stupidity of it all. 803 is Akin, South Carolina.

Called my cell at 6:23AM (woke me up). This is the second time they've called in about a month. Didn't answer either time, and they didn't leave a voicemail.

This number is legit: UPS Supply Chain Solutions. If you have anything being shipped to you from outside the US, you will often need to have a tax id # to import the goods. So if you bought something from ebay from overseas, for example, and they ship via UPS, they most likely will call for a tax id # before customs can release the package.They called and left a message for me from this number and referenced an invoice number that I had on file, so I know it's legit.

Is from UPS Brokerage center, usually when you have shipment detained in custom required clearance, and the broker needs further information to help you clear it out. This is a legitimate number, and it is recommended to call back, or check your voicemail.

You are wrong. If you are a corporation/business they would need your Federal Tax ID; for personal, they would need your SSN. It is the requirement for carrier (UPS) or federal custom to obtain your tax reference to order to clear the goods. You just miss a packages coming from Netherlands; you should always check who is the shipper so you will know who send it to you. My recommendation is - don't act smart.

YOU MUST BE PART OF THE SCAM. NO ONE can ask for your SSN.....and Your SSN would not be apart of a package being mailed, because the person mailing it would not know you SSN....you must think the world is full of idiots.....lucky to know that it's just you who are stupid!
