I received the same call just now... Similar, but mine is Humana Medicare. I've already told these people twice that I'm not interested since I go to the doctor on a regular basis. It would be great for those patients that can't, but I am able. They don't want to take NO for an answer, so I just blocked them, although they'll probably just use another number.

I Dont believe these calls are from the HMO's that they claim. It appears to be that there is third party looking to milk medicare for payments for "in home health assessments" i have refused this twice and still get calls which I now ignore.

It is from your medicare provider - we've received a multitude of letters from Humana advising that they will be calling to schedule a home visit. You are right that they do not take "no" for an answer. Frankly, it's a subcontractor hired by Humana and other medicare providers to gain access to your home and see what it is like. Do you have piles of newspapers? Are there electrical cords lying around? Are there vicious dogs (or any dogs)? etc etc etc. Then, my belief is they can use these factors to deny claims.

Calls almost daily but no message left ....What is wrong with the *DO NOT CALL LIST*...These calls are annoying & yetGov't seems not to care....like everything else that Gov't doesn't care about

So true Johnny d! I handle all my parent's business including their medical. I continually got phone calls from these people claiming to be with their insurance and wanting to set an appointment for them to come to their home! I told them 100 times, "NO" but that didn't seem to matter! I finally called the insurance company to complain and they got it stopped. However, I've heard horror stories about people coming to your home and once inside, they scope the home for ways to deny claims such as a fall because a hand rail wasn't installed on a stairwell properly so claim denied, etc. Now I don't know how true that is but with these people being so persistent and refusing to take NO for an answer, I don't trust it! Just another "loop hole" in Medicare that someone found a way to make a fortune and we're the ones who end up paying for it!

Wary Consumer: You nailed it! I replied to someone above you before I saw your comment about the "scoping out" of your home and denying claims! To add one more issue, a neighbor of my parent's had been receiving those letters but simply ignored them. One day someone showed up on their doorstep for the medical evaluation, even though they'd never set up an appointment. They tried their best to talk her into coming inside "since they were already there" but thankfully the neighbors shut the door in their face! They tried being nice by simply saying "NO" and after 5 times, they'd had enough! She felt so bad thinking she was being rude by shutting the door in someone's face but then again, that's exactly what they're hoping for and that you'll let them in! It's bad enough seniors are being taken advantage of by our government and Medicare, now they've got to worry about these kind of people! That's just plain WRONG!

First time Christine Stevens called and left a message with number & ext. 855-319-4453 x6510. Looked it up here and one poster said she understood it was Censeo Health. They are the "3rd party" that does the home health service.Seems like everybody's thoughts on this "service" are believable. Blocked

2 years ago, I got a call from someone claiming to be with humana, wanting to set up an appointment I told them I would have to get back with them. The next morning I am getting ready to leave & someone pulls in my driveway, claiming to be with humana , he said he was from North Carolina & that he was there for my appointment we live in AL, I sent him on his way, they have already started this year. I don't trust these people, maybe I am paronoid but I don't let strangers uninvited into our home

Called my house phone this a.m. No message. Caller ID read "Genita Babatum." Blocked it.

Called this morning at 8:30 a.m.! Assume Humana again. They've called on other numbers before, including one that read Genita Babatum. I picked up one just to see and it was some woman telling me she was from Humana and wanted to...I cut her off. Told her stop stop calling and slammed the phone.
