I received a call from a restricted number - he stated he is with CenturyLink and needed to speak with me regarding my bill. Wanted the phone number associated with my bill, SSN, billing address and account number. Refused to give him any information and told him I don't have an account with Century Link and never have, he gave me this number to call back and verify he is with CenturyLink. I looked up CenturyLink and called their number (not the same), gave them this number to verify if it was in fact their number. CenturyLink DOES NOT have any numbers with the suffix 844

Lucky my phone showed a bug a vires in the callers number

This is NOT the actual company Century Link. I received an call from them. When I called the Corporate office of Centuryy Link, they could find no bill in my name. This is a total scam.

You are correct-as was said below back in September 2016, CenturyLink does not have a phone number with a 844 area code. Scammers are hoping people will be too stupid to realize this fact

Received a call from this number. They left a message saying they were CenturyLink. She said, "Thank you for using CenturyLink". I do not have service with CenturyLilnk. Must be a scam...

I receive calls from this number every week. I decided to answer it today to try to get them to stop. She said she was from CenturyLink and that I owe them money. I had an account with CenturyLink and they did say I owed them money which I had disputed. I didn't tell this to the woman on the phone, but I did ask her how much money they say I owe (to see if it agrees with what I had been told previously by the actual CenturyLink). She said she would first need the last 4 digits of my SS#. I told her no. She asked for my birthdate. I told her no. She said she couldn't give me the amount wihout my verifying who I was. I told her she called me so why would I need to verify who I am. We argued for quite awhile, but got nowhere. So annoying!

Caller left VM requesting I call back. I blocked this number since I am not a customer.

I ordered Centurylink internet only service last year when I moved, and they required a $50 deposit, which I paid. My service date came and went with no notice from them, come to find out, they were "out of capacity". Great, called them for my money back, told me it was going to be a month, and they would mail me a check. Uh, no I told them. Ended up filing a charge back with my credit card company, 20 days later had my money returned after they failed to respond. Case closed, right? Nope, received a "statement" in the mail for services I NEVER had, including a $15 "service connection fee", lol. Remember, I never had even one second of any type of service with them. I sent the "bill" back stating this, and later received a "late payment" demand letter for $38 and change. This time I called them, and was assured it would be taken care of. Nope, next month another "bill" asking me to pay them back the $50 I contested, MY $50, lol. Didn`t hear anything for close to a year until now, collections looking for "my" $50 to be sent to them. This company is the biggest joke EVER. Waiting to see if they are going to be messing with my credit reports next, then it`s lawyer time, enough of these idiots!!!!!!! DROP DEAD CENTURYLINK!!!!!!!!

I just received a call from this number, 5th time this week. Lady said it was a courtesy from Century Link call and that I owed a $200.00 early termination fee. I had an account w/ them once. but there was no contract. It was one of those no contract, no hook-up fee ads that I answered. I left them well after a yr because their service sucked. Early termination fee my [***].... I hung up..How do we get jerks like this to leave us alone??
