I keep getting calls from this number asking me to enter my bank account # and pin #, then it says it doesn't recognize all the info. I didn't get as far as to leave the message # but it does not seen legit. I check my bank account every day so I will keep on doing it. I will need to see something in writing if Citibank needs to inform me about my account.

On 10/19/19 I received a voicemail on my home phone from "Citibank" to call 1(844)712-1201 for an important message. The robotic voice sounded exactly like whenever I call Citibank or they call me. They advised me to enter "message code 119440" to retrieve my message. The robotic voice knew my name and asked if I was (my full name) or a person financially responsible for (my name) and had me press 1 to affirm this. Then the recording "for security purposes" asked for the last 4 digits of my SSN. When I entered that, the recording stated the "purpose of the call was for debt collection" and stated my account was overdrawn by $4.04. As my account was not overdrawn, and I suspected a scam, I hung up immediately. When I called Citibank to verify whether or not I had been scammed, it seemed to them that I had been. They are going to investigate the number for me. When I googled this number, it seems as though it has been reported a scattered number of times as being "suspicious."
