1 855 249 4157 ext 20050033563 is Louie ( female) Rodrigues she works for SS admin. They are working from the home these days so the phone ID for US Gov doesn’t show. This was verified by me talking to SSA Las Vegas branch today 12 May 2022 at 1411 hours local. If you want to verify call SSA at 1 800 772 1213.
Received call with caller id 800-772-1213 (social security administrator) and "monica" left message about my internet social security claim asking me to call her back at 855-249-4175This seems like a scam so Im not calling back.Matt
I received a similar call from the same Caller ID number from someone named David. When he asked me to give him my Social Security Number over the phone I hung up. I then received a followup email asking me to call him at the 855-249-4175.I feels like a scam to me as well so I haven't called back.Tom
The Soc. Security office in Salinas lists their number as (800) 772-1213. This smells real fishy.
I filled out an application online for social security. A week later I recieved an e-mail supposedly fromSocial Security Administration telling me to call 1-855-249-4175 and at Extension 4015088 so that theycould ask me a few more questions. I wondered if it was a scam but called and the recording told me to leave my name and social security number. How dumb can you get?! Unfortunately, there are probablypeople out there falling victim to this scam.
I also filled out an application for social security and a week or so later got a call from 800 772-1213 and a message was left requesting call back at 1-855-249-4175 Ext. 4015051. Called back and left a message and unfortunately left name and SSN and call back number. I got no call back. What a dumb move. Anybody know how to report and or recover from this stupid gaff?
This follows up my previous post. Yes it was legitimate. I called the main SSA number and was able to verify that the person calling me was from the legitimate claims processing unit in Salinas, Ca. Doesn't hurt to be too careful. Should not have given out information on 1st try without verification even though caller seemed to know a lot of details about my case.
To bring peace to all concerned. Confirmed that this call is legit - they are a branch of the Social Security Office, who can also be reached via the MAIN # (800-772-1213). I also panicked when I left information without first checking and found your site - after the fact, which frightened me more. However, it's always safer to be careful, especially in today's world. I called the number again, and the agent recommended (for my comfort) that I call my LOCAL SS OFFICE to verify the callback #, extension and representative's name before continuing with my call. IT ALL CHECKED OUT.BTW, you may choose to ignore this call, however, it can delay your claim processing if you don't respond. Also, an email was sent but not received because they had the wrong email information. If contact by way of your provided phone # or email address is not successful, a hard copy letter will be sent to you. If you do not respond, your claim may be delayed, or worse, may not be processed at all, depending on the nature of your claim!
BTW, in their phone message, they requested another # where they could better reach you, and did NOT request your SS# information. I also thought that, but re-listened to the message and it was not required. I think that the fact it was from SS, I automatically thought my # was requested - my mistake!
Re-re-directed to call this phone number with extension 4015067/David Martinez. But this is an ugly joke as no live person ever answer at this phone #. I was just directed to leave a message, to no avail, or call later as all the reps are busy now. Later when? After I'll get a stroke trying to get a resolution for retirement application. After 2/1 months my application is stuck with David Martinez. Many cudos for him!
