They were looking to get amex merchants set up with residential financing for customers. I had a great chat! very happy and honest, LOVE amex.
not a scam, just helping amex spread good news about new partnerships with the company that may benefit to residental business'.
Called leaving a message stating they were calling on behalf of American Express wire transfers, and that they'd like to talk to me about my "international bank wire transfers", which I don't do.
Stated she was calling on behalf of American Express and wanted to know who was responsible for international wire transfers. When I stated I had no idea what she was talking about, she asked to be transferred to our "controller". Felt like it was probably a sales call (rather than a scammer).
Said she was with American Express and called to help with our international bank transfers services. Asked me if I was the owner and what my name was, I did not answer that. I said I don't want a credit card... she said it wasn't credit cards, they could get us lower international transfer rates since they work with our bank. So I asked which bank that was, and just got a nervous laugh and she said "we wouldn't know that". Um huh? Sounds like they're trying to get business info to steal biz identity, be careful!
Yep we received a call - same spiel - American Express - I told the lady that everything is handled by Corporate office and she said ok she would call them. She never asked for the number or anything. I think this is a random sales call - even though it did come up BHP Consulting. I never give out any information to cold calls like this.
Called and said they were from american express international and wanted to know how often to my company wire money and my email .. I became suspicious
