Magazine subscriptions - I got a free one year subscription to several magazines and then upon renewal they charged my card. You can call this number and cancel and hopefully get your money back, at least for the magazines that haven't yet been delivered.

I saw this charge on my acct. as well, I just called the number and was walked through a process of either canceling or getting money back. While this was an inconvenience, it wasn't to challenging. I remember when I signed up fo this that it would auto renew, I did think they would give an email first to let you know, that didn't happen. Anyway I was issued a refund for all 4 magazines however it has not hit my acct. yet and has been 7 days, I will be calling today to see what the hold up is.

I had he exact same thing happen to me. What did you find out & what did you do? Did you get your money back?

I received a charge on my credit card from TIME*855-449-8747 FOODN, and thanks to this thread was able to look up the company. I did this through Mags for Miles and TOTALLY forgot about the auto-renewal. I called their customer service line 1-877-645-6806, and it was pretty easy to cancel everything I had with them. Although they were pretty insistent on re-selling, I was able to get everything cancelled by repeating, "I just don't want to be charged for anything in the future. At all." Take note, however, that when you first call the number, the line is silent for about a minute or so (probably to make you think you've called the wrong number and make you hang up - sneaky). But if you stay on the line after all of the silence and weird music and ringing, you'll get to a person and they can cancel everything - I even got a refund of the original charge. Hope this helps!

People should not pay for magazines and newspapers with credit cards because of the auto-renewal shenanigans. Paying by check can be problematic if the subscription company gets checking account information from the MICR code of the check and at renewal time claim they can do EFT withdrawals from a checking account, because of the auto-renewal agreement. This is bad for people whose checking account might be very low on funds or even overdrawn. Convenient for the subscription companies does not mean for the subscriber.The best way to pay is by USPS money order, second best is by money orders from companies like Western Union and similar.

Called this number, magazine service, Alicia recognized the subscription and confirmed cancellation of same with full refund to be provided. Let's see how long it takes!!
