never leaves a message just hangs up keeps calling all day long dont answer looking for a sucker
They call several times a day but no one is on the other end of the line. I've yelled in the phone to stop calling but they don't
They have called 3 times within the last hour. They normally call 3 times a day 7 days a week, so they apparently are increasing the frequency to try to make me mad enough to pick up the phone. Never leave a message. I owe no one, but I have a relative that has been having collection problems. I assume they have my number because of that. I am never late paying any bill, so I feel they are using harassment on someone who is innocent. This should be illegal. This is stalking. I don't need an alarm, as they call around 8 A. M. most days, probably when their shift starts. Does this go on forever?
Calls come in CONSTANTLY and for quite a while. I have tried answering a few times (not lately) but there is no one ever there. I thought that it might stop if I talk to someone. But no good. There should be something that can be done about this-it is very annoying!
They call and when I answer nobody is there. So I called back and this number is for a dentist office. Midland is faking the caller ID. The lady that answered said they get lots of calls for people looking for Midland.
this is true, they have many numbers and some are spoofs like give a city and town. though I don't know if all of them are the same. They have called me for "years" I used to answer and no one was there, and they don't leave any message on the machine. I've heard not to answer that shows them there's a real people (here). For the past few months they have called me more and more, current they call me every 20 mins to 2 hours starting at 8:15 am. I've debated changing my number, but I've had it a long time and even unlisted numbers get on databases at some point. This morning when they called at 8:15am and 8:30 am I decided to start seeing it in a different way. For one thing, I have to get up and get going in the morning (unless I turn the ringer off o the phone) so now, everytime they call I am going to do something positive, like an exercise or yoga posture, and think a positive affirmation. I'm going to see the calls as a reminder to do this. I'm wondering if people who use and have "toll free numbers" (which I think are exempt form the DO NOT CALL Reg?) have to pay each time they make a call that is answered (maybe not by an answering machine?) For awhile I was picking up the phone and hanging it up again after the first few rings, but that seemed ot make them call more. If there is a way of getting it to cost them money each time they call....? I guess calling them back might, too, if I could block my number first but they probably don't accept anonymous calls. I can put anonymous call rejection on, but they still get through because they are showing a number. Anyway, I have decided today to see it in a positive and maybe even FUN way..
They call 2-3 times a day. without a name and VALID, recognizable number, I DON'T ANSWER, unless I'm especially peeved. They I tell them what they can do to their mother!
I get calls from these xxx-holes several times a day. I'm absolutely debt free. That aside...what these bottom feeders do is call anybody with the same last (or first name) as the person they're looking for, in (of course...) the area where their target person lives. The thinking behind that is maybe they'll get lucking and get that person, or maybe a relative of that person...It's difficult to be polite when posting about the xxxx-ing vultures - but they are what they are ... bottom feeders! And those kind of debt collectors likely have no qualms about lying, impersonating someone they're not, or whatever kind of sleazy tactics they have up their sleeves...The bottom line here is this: If you have Caller ID, and you don't recognize the number, don't answer the phone. And if you can block the number by all means do so...Capt. Jack
